Woolapalooza Sheep & Farm Festival, 30th April and 1st May 2017

Kick up your heels as the return of our annual Woolapalooza Farm Festival returns for two days over the May Bank Holiday weekend.  A fun packed schedule of farm activities will be rolled out and will be sure to make you go barn-y for all things farm-y!

Egg Collection (10:00am) Meet at the Hen House

Roll up, roll up for the daily morning egg collection from our Silkie hens

Jersey Herd Milking & Tasting (10:30am) In the Farmyard

See our Jersey herd being milked in the farmyard and after watching the milking process, you’ll get to taste the yummy, creamy Jersey milk!

Sheep Shearing (10:30am, 12pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 4:00pm) In the farmyard

Award winning sheep shearer Rodney will be shedding and trimming all our sheep’s winter woolly coats and getting them ready for summer.

Airfield House Tour (11.30am) Meet in the Airfield House

Explore the history of Letitia and Naomi Overend

Craft Market (9:30am – 4:00pm) Green Barn & Hive Courtyard

We’ve invited some really cool craft makers and designers to exhibit their collection so don’t forget to bring some cash if you’re interested in buying!

Sizzling BBQ (12:00pm to 4:00pm) Hive Courtyard

Enjoy delicious BBQ and refreshment.

Sheep Dog Trials (11am, 12:30pm, 2pm and 3:30pm) Fairy Tree Field

The sheep dog trials will once again steal the show with the return of Nan, the champion sheepdog and her charismatic owner Dennis Birchall!  They’ll put on a spectacular display of manoeuvres and agility. (We love Dennis!!)

Drop in Craft Session (10:00am – 4:00pm) Calf House

Make your own wooly creations with the help of our Airfield crafters

Animal Feeding (3:30pm) Meet in the Sunken Garden

Join our Airfield guide for the daily animal feeding

Agricultural Tours (12pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm) Meet in the Farmyard

Adult orientated but all are welcome to meet our farmer and get an insight into the daily farm routine

Barn Dance, Face Painting and Pop up Cafe  Green Barn

10am-3:30pm facepainting, 12pm-4pm Live music, 10am-5pm pop up cafe.

Grab a partner and have some craic stepping out to live music!

Butchery Demonstration (1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm) Hort Kitchen

Watch Scarlet Heifer craft butchers in action.

Airfield Bakery Demonstration (12pm) Hort Kitchen

Join our Head Baker Shane Smith for a demonstration of traditional Irish farmhouse cooking.
