Things to do at Airfield Estate

Here are the daily activities for October at Airfield Estate

  • 10 am – Egg collection at hen houses
  • 10:30 am – Jersey Herd Milking & Tasting in the farmyard
  • 11 am – Calf feeding in the farmyard
  • 11:30 am – Family House Tour* (Wednesday to Sunday)
  • 2:30 pm – Heritage House Tour* (Wednesday to Sunday)
  • 3:30 pm – Animal Time, meet in the sunken garden.

Please note daily activities are subject to change.

*There will be no house tours taking place from 27th October – 4th November due to the Halloween Experience.

Forest School Paint MakingWe’re excited to bring you a 6 week hands-on Forest School kicking off in September where your little one can learn Forest School techniques with two fantastic practitioners Fiona and Rebecca. Throughout the 6 weeks, they will guide the lucky forest schoolers through activities such as shelter building, learning knots to make cool things with ropes, using tools to make wooden crafts, foraging, flora and fauna identification, forest art and games!

What to expect at Airfield EstateYoung Farmers classes will bring the world of farming to life for the animal loving kids! We have a series of 4 classes in 2018 where children from 8-12 will get hands-on experience working with some of our farm animals including the calves and the donkeys.

Our Young Chef cookery classes for 8-12 year olds will run four times during the year with seasonal menus and take-home recipes. Children will explore our food gardens and harvest their own ingredients for the different dishes they produce.

airfield activatesEveryone is welcome for our weekly 3K walk – Walks take place at 9.30am on Monday mornings.
Enjoy a fast pace walk around Airfield Estate with Grainne Kelliher to get your week off to a positive start. This is a free activity, and the more the merrier!


When: Monday mornings at 9.30am (excluding Bank Holidays)

Meeting point: Meet at the ticket kiosk


  • On arrival please sign in at the ticket kiosk.
  • You will be greeted by an Airfield staff member and they will guide you on a brisk walk of the estate.
  • They will guide you from the sign in point around the estate and back to the exit point.
  • Please note airfield activates does not run on Bank Holidays.

GardeningSet in the beautiful surrounds of Airfield Estate, this Gardening Course will guide you through the gardening season, teaching you how to make the most of your garden by growing your own vegetables, flowers and fruits. Each month we will focus part of the class on a particular garden task that the tutor deems to be key to a successful month. .
