Virtual School Tours
If you're a teacher why not bring your class on a virtual tour to Airfield Estate?
Get a little more familiar with our farm animals, food production and so much more.
Tours can be tailored to suit your class group.
Take a virtual tour with your class, giving you an insight into how our organic food garden and farm teams produce food at Airfield Estate. Your guide will also talk about the ways we look after nature on the Estate. During your tour, you will see what is growing in the gardens and meet some farm animals.
Tours are designed to be interactive with the guide asking questions to the class throughout and inviting them to ask questions too. This tour is adaptable to all primary age groups.
Our virtual tours of our working farm and organic food production garden give opportunities for learning across a range of secondary subjects.
Junior Cycle: Science, Home Economics, Geography
Leaving Certificate: Biology (Ecology - Grassland study), Home Economics, Agricultural Science
Throughout the virtual tour, we will incorporate topics including sustainability, biodiversity and the story of milk from grass to glass.
A virtual tour of Airfield Estate gives students an opportunity to learn about food-production from horticulture and farming and the sustainable practices we use. Students can follow the story of food production from our farm to the consumer including how we pasteurise milk on a purpose-built facility on the Estate.
All tours will be adapted to your class group and we will be asking questions of your students as well as inviting them to ask questions too.
Here's what some of our virtual tour participants have said:
The Junior Room thoroughly enjoyed their virtual tour of Airfield Estate and Farm this week. They got to see all the farm animals, the food production and enjoyed seeing their friends online. @AirfieldEstate pic.twitter.com/HBKIKChxPe— St. Brigid's NS Ticknevin (@brigid_ns) February 17, 2021
