Afternoon Tea

    Early Victorians ate their main meal 'dinner at lunch time. When dinner time moved to the evening, the tradition of serving afternoon tea was introduced. A variety of small cakes and cucumber sandwiches were served with the tea - at the time, an expensive and exotic item.
