Leaving Cert. Agricultural Science

Tour Details:

We offer a LC Ag. Science field course.  We recommend starting the workshop at 9.30 or 10am and students should bring their own lunches and drinks.

The LC Ag. Science field course is an in-depth, scientific look at our agricultural methods.

The following topics will be covered: animal housing; milking parlour sanitary procedures; processing milk for consumption; calculating nitrate load; condition scoring cattle and sheep; the five freedoms; cattle, sheep, chicken, and pig production; grassland management; soil composition; heritage crop varieties; and organic gardening.

Please note that we no longer accept cash payments for school visits – bank transfer is preferred, but we can also accept cheques and card payments.

Accompanying adults must arrive with and remain with the group at all times. The minimum number of adult to children ratios are as follows: Secondary 1:24.
